Dixie Invitational Soccer Tournament

Nov. 26 & 27, 2010

Hosted By:         Washington County KICKS (WCKICKS)/SUSA

Dates:                 November 26 & 27, 2010

Location:            St. George, Utah and the surrounding cities in Southern Utah.

Eligibility:            USYSA Affiliated Teams Ages U10 - U18 Teams

11v11 teams may have a maximum eighteen (18) Players.  The U10 & U11 teams may have a maximum of fourteen (14) players, with fewer players allowed on the field (8v8).  Each team may have a maximum of four (4) guest players for the tournament.

Selection:             Tournament Board reserves the right to accept or reject applications to provide the best level of play and balance of teams to the tournament.  A first received, first reserved space will be followed unless the board deems it necessary to accept another team based upon the above conditions.

 

Format:                  All teams are guaranteed three games with the possibility of the two top teams in the age division playing a Championship game.

 

Age Groups:          U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18 boys and girls. 

Entry Fee:               $550.00 per team U12-U18

                         $400.00 per team U10 & U11

Awards:                  First and Second place awards in each division.

Check-in:                Local Teams: Mandatory Wednes4ay, Nov. 24, 2009 @ the DSC Old Gym. 7-9 pm

                         Traveling Teams: Thursday, Nov. 25, 2009 @ the DSC Old Gym.  7-9 pm

Registration:         A COMPLETED APPLICATION (page 1), and a CASHIER'S CHECK to be postmarked by October 31, 2010 to the following address.  High School girls' teams will have one (1) extra week to register for the tournament.  See end of section for more information about registration requirements.

Registration:

  • Coaches need a copy of each player's birth certificate, get it from the parents, not the registrar.  If a player is challenged about his/her age, on the field, he/she may not be able to play if there is no birth certificate as proof of eligibility at the field.
  • The only official roster accepted, is the roster printed from the Affinity program signed by District/League Registrar.  Out of state teams will need to provide a certified roster from their registrar.
  • A completed and signed Waiver must be turned in at Check-in.  (This Waiver is attached to the application)
  • A coach MUST have a current player card for each player and coach.
  • Each guest player must have: a signed registration/medical waiver form. A copy of his/her birth certificate, a current player card, and a signed guest player form.
  • Once a team is checked in at the tournament, the roster is frozen.
  • Medical waivers (on USYSA/UYSA registration form) are required for all players.  The medical waivers must be presented at registration and must be present at every game with the coach.

Out of State Teams or Players:

  • All travel papers must be forwarded to the Tournament Director no later than one week prior to the first game.
  • No team, or player, shall play without proper travel authorization from your state, to include USYS Application to Travel with the appropriate Approval signature, rosters, laminated player passes and medical releases.

Determining Winners:

Teams will be awarded points in pool play as follows:

·         Six (6) point for each win

·         One (1) point for each shut out.  (0v0 tie is not a shut out)

·         A tie game will be scored as 4 points for each team.

·         One (1) point for each goal scored up to a maximum of three (3) per game

·         Zero (0) points for each loss

·         Minus one (-1) for each red card

 

All game results will be posted at the tournament headquarters after the referee has filed the game report.  Scores will not be accepted from players, coaches, or spectators. 

Tie Breaker:  updated 04/08/10

In the event of a tie at the end of pool play, the winner will be determined in the order as follows:

  1. The winner in head-to-head competition (where applicable)
  2. Fewest goals against
  3. Goal differential - Highest goal difference (goals for minus goals against) with a maximum of three (4) goals difference per game counted both for and against.  For example, if the score was 8-3, the calculation would be +4 goals for the winning team, -4 goals for the losing team.  If the score was 6-4, the calculation would be +2 goals for the winning team and -2 goals for the losing team.
  4. Most total wins
  5. Most shut-outs
  6. If a tie still exists after steps 1 through 5, the tournament Director/committee will decide whether the teams will go into a shoot-out or have a coin toss, this will depend upon the time schedule, availability of fields and officials.  FIFA kicks from the penalty mark will be taken.  In the event of a three-way at the end of bracket play, the winner for advancement to the final game will be determined in the order of steps 2 through 6.  The advancement of the remaining two teams is determined by steps 1 through 6.

Home Team:           

The home team will be the team listed first on the game schedule.  The home team will be responsible for providing 2 game balls.  The home team will be required to switch to alternate jerseys to accommodate the color conflict as declared by the referees.  All teams must have alternate jerseys.  The home team will have a selection of the side of the field for its team and spectators.

Forfeits and Byes:

A team that fails to report ready to play within 5 minutes of the scheduled kick-off time will forfeit the game; they will also forfeit their remaining games.  The games will be scored, 1-0 the other team will be awarded 8 points. 

Drop outs:   

If a team drops out after the schedule is published, no money is refunded.  Word may be sent to all other Tournament Directors in the team's state of origin, about any team who drops out at the last minute

Protests/Disputes: 

·         No protest will be allowed or considered

·         All disputes shall be settled by the Tournament Director or her designates and that decision shall be final.

Divisional Play:

Divisions will have pool or round robin play.  Each team is scheduled for a minimum of 3 games.   Final games are as follows:

Four Team Divisions: The finalists will be the two teams with the highest point totals after pool play.

Five Team Divisions:  This will consist of a "Round Robin" format.  The finalists will be the two teams with the     highest point totals after pool play.

Six Team Divisions- will play 2 teams in their pool then cross over for 1 game, the top two teams will be the finalists.

Rules of Play:

FIFA Laws/Rules for the game shall apply as modified by USYSA and UYSA as described herein:

Duration of games, Overtime and Ball Size are as follows:

  • U10- Game time for pool play is 20 minute halves, size 4 ball.

Final game is 25 minute halves.  10 minutes of overtime.

  • U11/U12/U13/U14- Game time for pool play is 25 minute halves, U11/U12 size 4 ball, U13/U14 size 5 ball. 

Final game is 30 minutes halves.  10 minutes of overtime.

  • U15/U16- Game time for pool play is 30 minute halves, size 5 ball. 

Final game is 35 minute halves.  10 minutes of overtime.

  • U17/U18- Game time for pool play is 35 minute halves, size 5 ball. 

Final game is 40 minute halves.  10 minutes of overtime.

No over time periods will be played in preliminary rounds.

Half time for all games will be no more than 5 minutes.

Field Check-In:

The fields monitor or referee will check in each team with player cards 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the game.  Failure of a team to report within 5 minutes of a scheduled game will be considered a forfeit by that team.

Players Equipment:

It will be up to the referee's discretion to allow a player wearing an orthopedic cast or hard brace to take the field.  Shin guards are mandatory for all players.  

Bracketing:

Bracketing of teams will be determined by the tournament committee.  No appeals of the tournament bracketing will be allowed.  Depending on registration, it is possible that age groups may be combined.

Coaching:

All coaches have total responsibility for the conduct of their player, substitutes, friends and spectators at all times.  Coaching form the sidelines is permitted provided:

1.       No mechanical devises are used

2.       The tone of voice is instructive and not derogatory

3.       No coach, player or spectator uses profanity or incites, in any manner disruptive or abusive behavior

Cautions and Ejections:

A player who has been ejected shall not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled game.  Any player or coach who assaults a referee or tournament official will be expelled from the tournament, and the proper legal authorities will be contacted.  The Tournament Director/committee will eject players, coaches or spectators from the tournament for any behavior they deem inappropriate.   Cards can be issued to coaches for unruly spectators and coaches can be ejected from the game.  Unruly spectators will be asked to leave the premises.  Failure to compl6y may cause a team to forfeit the games.

Suspended Games:

The referee can suspend or terminate a game for misconduct or safety concerns regarding weather conditions. 

 

Dangerous Weather/Field Conditions: In case of dangerous weather or field conditions, games may:

1.       Be shortened

2.       Go to FIFA kicks from the mark

3.       Be canceled

If FIFA kicks are to be taken in lieu a preliminary round game, a maximum of 5 kicks will be taken per team. At the end of 5 kicks the game will be scored as a 1-0 win for the team that has scored more penalty kicks, or a 0-0 tie if both teams are tied after 5 kicks each.

Injury and/or Delay:

Any conditions resulting in delays of the game may cause shortening of the game in order to maintain the tournament schedule.

Retrieval of Player's cards due to Red Cards:

It is every coach's responsibility to retrieve his/her player's card which had been pulled due to a red card given.   The player cards may be retrieved from the Tournament Director before the end of the last game played of the Tournament.  All left over player cards will be taken up to the UYSA office and the coach must retrieve the card from there.

IDENTIFY YOUR TEAM AND AGE BRACKET ON YOUR BINDER COVER.

 

 

STEP #2:

PAGE 1: OFFICIAL TEAM ROSTER must be signed by the registrar

 

STEP#3:

PAGE 2 & 3: Have all your player registrations and birth certificates in alphabetical order with the Player Registration showing on the left side (page 2) and their birth certificate on the right side (page 3).

 

Player Cards also need to be in alphabetical order!
